STATEMENT

In CANIS, Céleste Nshimiyimana and I explored what happens when a human starts becoming more-than-human: C’s sense of selfhood builds as much on his human historical being as his canine virtual avatar, CANIS. It drew from our own lives and from digital fables; we blurred the lines, used ourselves as actors, fusing the film into a docu-fiction.

Screening at internet cafe PowerPlay Infinity, Copenhagen, DK. 2018.
